About: Matching for HLA on the epitope level is a very promising avenue to prevent the formation of donor-specific antibodies in kidney transplant recipients. However, before HLA epitope matching can be introduced for the individual patient, the relative immunogenicity of HLA epitope mismatches needs to be established. This lecture will introduce the concept of relative immunogenicity and how this can be studied in order to facilitate HLA epitope matching in the future.
